Background

Karwan Hawramy is from the city of Arbil (Kurdistan ) in the northern part of Iraq. In 1990, he and his family came to settle in Canada. Since the age of eight, Karwan and his older brother, Karzan Hawramy (then age ten) discovered an interest in music. With Karwan being the vocalist in the family and Karzan as the musician, they set out to perform live music: initially for the pleasure of family and friends; but they quickly aroused interest among others. It wasn’t long before they developed into a group of four consisting of a percussionist, drummer, keyboardist (Karzan) and vocalist, and performed at events and parties.
